Downpipe Volvo 855t question.
It's a 96 stock and with original exhaust system. Car is very functional with many items addressed, TBV, wastage, vacuum lines, stage 0, etc. Runs great, high miles unknown. I'm thinking of OBX or similar exhaust but will likely never have the car tuned other than possibly a stage 1. Has original turbo that was rebuilt once. So, will I get improved performance from a bigger exhaust system alone? Porting the exhaust manifold? Do I have a straight or angled downpipe? I know, I could look but what was the factory configuration for the 15G turbo? The question really is should I bother with anything other than stock replacement of exhaust and associated parts, cat etc. considering I'll likely never tune the car other than maybe the ECM. Advice appreciated.
Bigger exhaust always helps turbos - within reason. Too little back pressure can lead to issues with overboost, but it doesn't seem to be an issue with the 850. You'll have a straight flange on yours unless it's been changed at some point. Just an FYI the OBX downpipe doesn't have a cat.

It is much easier to swap the turbo housing to angled and get one of these downpipes.
