I think we should get Matt to post this motto on every page on here. It is a lesson I've learned all too well!! (And it seems like I'm not the only one!) I'll be patient. I am tempted by the Platinum and that Manual Turbo that costs a little more. Thank you all for the insight. I really appreciate it. Maybe I should just focus on making sure our one Volvo is up to snuff. The impetus to want to "save" these vehicles is strong though. Must resist...

But then another 850 rears it's pretty little head... only $500. All it needs is an alternator!

An alternator, a transmission, head gasket job, an AC evaporator, PCV job, rear links, front struts...5k later you've saved it!

That XC for $300 is so tempting though... Especially after reading through MattyMoo's XC rebuild thread!

Old thread revival

You need to spend sometime with eshowell, the master of the “ ridiculously underpriced P2”

Even with an engine swap on one of them , I think he scored 2 gorgeous P2s at about 20% of market value.

The high rent areas of NJ andCT have lots of loved and cared for m low mileage Volvos that come up for sale

People are pretty good at unloading these when the tranny is about to take a crap. I'd just put a rebuild in the budget and be pleasantly surprised if it's not needed.
