parking brake issue

I think if you soak the 2 pieces with PB Blaster for a short time and then gently tap them they will come off the PB shoes. With corrosion the slots in the 2 parts can almost weld themselves to the shoes as you can see!

Neil - You were right! Old part was rust "welded". Had me fooled. Have not gone back to finish job yet.

Get all those parts shiny and get some grease on them. Not too much here, but a film on all the metal parts "inside" the radius of the shoes.

Those parts are most definitely stuck on by gunk. Never witness physically for myself of that type of adjusters to be affixed to the shoe.

Closing this loop. Fixed today. Fresh eyes, patience, cleaned rotor, made sure pb handle torx was loose as possible... all back together and working properly. Must have needed a break from the brake. Thanks

Know the feeling, sometimes just taking a break is all I need to see the problem differently. Glad you got there in the end. Probably very satisfying having achieved it after so much of a challenge.
