transmission cooler needed?2002 Volvo XC70

I'm planning on towing a trailer/boat total weight max 1,000 lbs on hilly terrain. I have an automatic transmission. Bad idea? Should I get a transmission cooler and if yes, recommendations/dealer install, self install?

Fairly light load, but on hilly terrain, not a bad ides
