Shaky Front Brakes 93 850

Post by waynej »

If I brake hard at 70 MPH the front shakes so bad it feels like the whole car will disintegrate. I put a dial indicator on the front rotors and they each read .005" runout. That's not enough to cause a serious problem on most cars but I see VADIS says .0016" max runout. Can anyone tell me from experience how much runout it takes to cause a serious shake on an 850? When not braking it's fairly smooth up to near 80 and then just a slight shake.

Need to have your front rotors turned, when they overheat they warp.

I had same problem. I can't tell you any numbers as I just replaced the rotors and pads on the front. Inspection and I would have thought nothing wrong with the rotors compared to some of the Fords and Chevy's I have owned in the past however.
