2005 s60 R:I need to replace my front struts. Since they are so expensive and now that Monroe has severed relationship with Volvo they are hard to find. The car has 120K I plan to keep the car for another 10K miles. I"d like some advice on how to proceed. Alternatives: Used strut? or non-OESpectrum Electronic Strut? If I put regular struts on, what is a good alternative -Name brand and model?)
THe car is a daily driver, no racing or hard driving.

I don't think "OESpectrum" is the product we need to talk about. On Monroe's site it looks more like a marketing term than anything relevant here. I've never heard the term, but perhaps it's a parent category inside Monroe that 4Cs fall into.

Ok, having said that, P2 R cars use 4C struts. Yes, they're very expensive.

The Struts for R's and other Volvos are in the Monroe OE Spectrum line. C2501 and C1501 for front and rear respectively. They may not be available now as Monroe tools up and builds batches and I believe many sellers show them as out of stock with ETA for order fill late fall. Volvo dealers have them as Volvo has stock in their warehouses (more money!!)
