transmission pan gasket replacement
after 3 tries it still leaks. tried with sealant, without sealant, cork and rubber. tight bolts and looser bolts. never experienced anything so simple yet so difficult. i cannot find torque specs anywhere for these 14 small ten mm bolts. anybody know the torque or have an technical suggestions? thanks
Are you posititive that the trans-oil seepage comes from the pan gasket and not from the tailshaft oil seal, which would require replacing the tailshft bushing, gasket and oil seal. I had a similar problem and found that pan gasket was not the culprit. By the way just replacing the seal, would be only
a temporary measure. Worn bushing causes the seal to go bad, which in turn leaks. Pulling out and replacing the bushing, is the way to do this job. Hope this helps.
