Hey crew, I'm looking for some insight, a local salvage yard has a 99XC with with 157XXX on it with a coil on plug setup (I think there was a split that year), turbo with less than 15,000 on it, and ran well until timing belt went.
Will the turbo, propshaft, and transfer case fit my 98XC VIN ending W2494134? I always get confused with which year my stuff went.
Any insight would be welcome, thanks!

As far as i know....the difference is just in the engine management. The engine is physicaly the same but slightly different because of different engine management(DENSO),turbos should be interchangeable across models without problems.Awd system should also be the same.
Someone will correct me if i'm wrong because i'm not quite familiar with awd models.

I'm fairly sure the turbos were the same as a 13G but you can tell from the label on the turbo, the prop-shafts you need to measure yours and the other to check the front and rear flanges have the same outer diameter, one was 95mm if I recall and the other smaller, however if you pull the angle gear and V/C unit then you would cover that, but I believe you also need to check the dimensions and positions of the center prop support bearing as they may be different and Vida is not does not list their part numbers.
The transfer case/angle gear unit should be the same with the exception of the output shaft flange. If you pull it, check the sleeve between the transmission and the angle gear is not stripped. Some times if it is stripped you can jut replace the collar (about $150) but often the splined shaft is also damaged.
Neil.

The reason I think a new t-case is needed is because of sounds. Last winter I took out the drives haft because I heard something similar to a cowbell and the car would act like it was under load or towing, while driving. It spends, but is noisy as heck.
