Erikv11 is right....there is apsolutely NO difference between blue and black coloured shell bulbs.

Why different part # i don't know...but they are the same.I noticed that instrument cluster on my previous 340 had that blue shell bulbs. When i compared them to black ones....they were both made by osram and have the same 12v 1.2w.

Would anyone happen to know which OE bulbs one could use to replace the 3 climate control area bulbs? Also, the Instrument cluster bulb kit from IPD comes with the two info display bulbs, and was wondering if there was any other tutorial on how to change those besides the one already mentioned, which was for an LED conversion?

Climate control bulbs are different, but you can get those at any auto parts store: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=19025

The info display bulbs you just pull cluster then swap them. Are you looking for instructions on the cluster pull?

Thanks Erikv11 for leading me to that replacement thread! It wasn't until I noticed my cluster was going out, did some research, and then looked in my volvo that I realized the info display and climate control lights are supposed to be lit  What I was getting at with the info display is that the tutorial on volvospeed says you must cut the circuit board a little to get the bulbs out. Does that mean ill need to re-seal that area again with electrical tape or silicone? Or do they swap out without cutting any of the pcb?

The bulbs that light up the trip computer, temperature display, etc at the bottom of the speedo cluster: they just pop right out, pop back in , just like all of the speedometer warning lights. They are the same bulb. No modifications necessary.

The little INFO switch on the dash has a second bulb that does require cutting things apart, that's another matter.

If you have proper bulbs there is NO need to cut anything.Just remove the old and put in a new bulb.Been there a long time ago. ;)

Ooops! Yes I botched my description being lazy, thanks misha: for the INFO switch you have to pry (not cut) the switch open and pull the board out, but once you take it apart the bulb is easy to do, like the other switch lamps.
