My car came with the 24 spoke Argo wheels (15" x 6.5 ".) While they are fine, I have always admired the 6 spoke wheels I have seen on 850's. I understand that there are two primary types in this size, the Cetus with slightly larger, rounder spokes, the Antilia with narrower, more sculpted spokes, and the Niad which I believe is for a slightly taller tire (on the original XC-70's.) <http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ ... ryID=69929>
In the not too distant future, I would like to change from the Argo's to one of the 6 spoke designs. The main reason is purely subjective. I love the simplicity, balance, and clean lines of the 6 spoke wheels. The other reason is that the 24 spoke Argo's are a royal pain to keep clean.
I would appreciate any information based on practical experience from 850 owners who have these wheels as I get nearer to making a decision.
Thanks,

If you want to upgrade, I have a set of PERFECT 16" Perfos off of a 1998 T5
No marks or blems anywhere
16 x 6.5" they take 205/55/16 tires
Looks better and will handle MUCH better
This is what they look like;

I had not considered going to a 16" rim. I think selling my wife on new rims and tires might be dicey! But I am curious what the price would be.
You say the handling would be improved. Am I correct in thinking that this is because the 205/55/16 tires are wider?

I've heard some gripes about the 55's rubbing on a sharp turn but, other than in a parking lot, I've also heard that they have a much better ride. I have 50's on 16" Columbas and I can feel everything the road has to offer.

I would be interested in the perfos, but I think shipment would be to expensive (Austria). Sadly used volvo wheels are not easy to get here.

Volvo originally used 205/50/16, on 94's and early 95's, way too many bent wheels and customers complained about the ride. 205/55/16 eliminate that. Ride is great on theseOzark Lee wrote:I've heard some gripes about the 55's rubbing on a sharp turn but, other than in a parking lot, I've also heard that they have a much better ride. Handling is about the same as the 50's with MUCH fewer bent rims and behinds!
Helodrv, if you want to know price, PM me.
If you were going to buy new 15" wheels and tires anyway why not go to new 16" wheels and tires?
On certain cars the 55's may rub a tiny bit on full lock.
This depends on the tire and how wide a treadblock it has.
Also depends on how low your particular car sits, heightwise..
I run this size with my snow tires on my 850R and the only time they lighly touch the fenderwells is full lock and on an down incline (car nosing over)
