1997 940 - Which device for diagnostics?

Hi,

I ran DICE on my 940 - 1997 and when it finished to read the car profile I got a message that basically says if the car is older than 1999 DICE is unable to read it.
How do the dealers do then? VCT2000 + VIDA 2010A or DICE + VIDA 2010A?
No chance at all to get my DICE to read with my 940?

96-98 used the old hand-held diagnostic box, not a computer hookup.

Your best bet is a $15 VAG-COM cable off e-bay, and a copy of VOL-FCR.

Hi,

Yes, it took almost 3 years to get an answer but I got it

I am not familiar with both VAG-COM and VOL-FCR, but I understand the first is the cable, the latter the software.

I will look on Amazon/Ebay, anything I should be paying attention to? I mean, any specific version for Volvo cars?
