Really, didn't know they could do it. How interesting, were they grey market, or did Volvo allow the cross market order?

I assume they were Volvo approved orders.

Volvo has a few purchasing programs for people here in the US.
1. One program allows people to fly to Sweden to, pick out their car, color, accessories, etc., then drive the car there for a few days and have it shipped back.
2. US Military sales allows for people to purchase cars in other countries and have them shipped to the USA for free. I know of at least 1 yellow wagon that made the voyage.
3. Special delivery on some models with direct dealer pick up.

Not sure about others.

The dark greenbones are said to be the rarest with global production of 500 only (last t5-R batch). Still an ugly color.
Intersting is that the cream yellow was supposedly a T5-R only color, yet i saw a very early cream yellow v40 wagon with a diesel engine at the junkyard a while back. It looked factory painted because every part of the car was cream yellow, so i doubt it was an aftermarket paintjob.

I believe there were some P1800s in yellow, and I've seen the 122's in yellow, but maybe it was slightly different than the creme yellow. Interesting about the V40. I didn't realize they came in yellow. I need to do a little more research.

There are lots of names people call this color, but it is Cream Yellow. Not Gul/Gull Yellow.
I believe there was a cream yellow V40, but it's not the same color code as the T-5R.

That is corrct.I'm not sure where the Gull Yellow came from, but Volvo refers to it as Creme Yellow.

I don't think that anyone said that the 850 T-5R is the only car that Volvo ever produced in cream yellow, however, it's the only 850 in that color and only in '95.

I have seen a V40 yellow car not far from Charlotte NC a few times.

I don't know that I've ever seen that V40 in person, but I have seen an awful yellow V70 around Charlotte. It's like a really nasty taxi yellow. Can't be an original color.

It's called "Gul" because that's Swedish for "yellow".
"Gull" has nothing to do with anything - that's just a misspelling.

A "Gul T5-R" has a special standing over here and in SE as well, but it just means it's one of the yellows.
