Hello all, I am in love with my newly acquired 2004 V70 2.4. It's my first Volvo and I really dig it! It has 160,000+ miles on it and it seems to have been taken care of pretty well by its previous owners. I want it to last for many more miles to come so I want to get a good Volvo mechanic and have it thoroughly checked out and then good quality maintenance after that. I live in Brooklyn but I will travel to get to a good mechanic who is going to take care of my Volvo.
Thanks for any recommendations!
Peter

Hey Wagon_Pete, I heard this guy was good. But have never taken my car to him... https://www.yelp.com/biz/rustys-repair- ... usty+volvo
For all the Volvos on the road around here, I'm shocked that there aren't more Volvo mechanics in the area... (Maybe everyone uses the dealer? Or the few Volvo mechanics around here are busy enough as it is?)
I've used the fellas at D&S Auto Repair (https://www.yelp.com/biz/d-and-s-auto-r ... sunny+auto) for stuff with my older model S70 and they've been pretty good. But they haven't done anything major to it. I handle most of our repairs. I mentioned to them the other day (I took my car to get inspected recently) that I had installed Proparts Subframe Bushings a few months ago and that those parts failed. They laughed at me and mentioned how you have to install OEM VOLVO parts for most things on these cars... Which to me signifies that they know at least that much about our cars!
I have seen newer XC60s, XC90s and V70s in their garage. Please post the mechanic you end up using, Wagon_Pete.
