93 850 Oil Drain Plug Cross Threaded

Post by Roy »

My daughter used a quick oil change "shop" and came up with a cross threaded oil drain plug which her mechanic would not remove unless she wanted to pay for the worst case. So far I have found out that the drain plug is 18mm x 1.5. I haven't been able to locate an oversize plug in case it needs to be drilled and tapped. The dealer worst case price (over the phone) is $400 new oil pan, $160 labor plus oil change. Does any one have adviece or experience with this situation. --Roy--

Who cares? If it costs your 'quickie' shop $550 to fix their error, that's no skin off your nose.
