2002 V70 lumbar repair

Post by Canadian Moose »

I noticed that the lumbar support is broken on the driver side on my 2002 V70. I think it's stuck in the "out" position. Spinning the knob on the side doesn't seem to have any effect. Can this be repaired or do I have to buy a new seat? I have a spare passenger side seat, would I be able to swap the lumbar parts over to my driver seat? I really need this fixed because it's killing my back.

Maybe try to lift the rear upper leather cover, the metal clips are sharp - careful - can be bent with a pliers. I think this will give access to the rod that rotates - somehow like a camshaft - to adjust the lumbar, it might have slid out on one side. But it's not an obvious mechanism. You can still insert under the front cover a piece of foam to bump the lumbar.
