Removing roof rails
I would like to remove the Euro roof rails on my 2002 V70. From what I read I will have to replace plastic trim pieces on the roof. Would someone have a part number for these? Do they come painted to match or would I have to paint them?

Not made anymore.
They come, (or rather came), pre-painted, but you will have to check with your dealer if any are left in your color. There are some around, here and there.
You should be aware that they cost nearly $400 for a pair!!! (if you do manage to find a new pair)!

Your best bet is to forage for these at your local salvage yard. I recently picked up very clean ones for each of my V70s and only paid a nominal price per foot.

$400 for a couple of plastic strips seems pricey. Wonder if I can find another V70 owner to trade with. His strips for my roof rails. My car is white which I hear is hard to come by so doubt I'll have any luck at a junkyard.

Can you just run the car without strips?
Don't remove the rails on a quest for better gas Mileage...waste of time
If you need a set, hankbates will sell you set very reasonably here.

I want to do it purely for aesthetics. Just don't like the way they look. What is hankbates?

They are easy to find used. The common black ones can look good on a white car. Alternatively, clean well and spray with plastic paint. Mine have lasted 8 years without significant discoloring.

Do seal the holes where you removed the rail screws or put the screws back in. These holes can be a leak problem
