Haeter A/C Vents 91 940 SE
My 91 940 SE Wagon has a problem with A/C vents. They will not open all the way like they are suppose to. Is there a vacuum switch or relay that has gone bad? The A/C, works fine its real cold but the air cannot blow through the vents. Help someone!!!

The vent positions are vacuum controlled. How about heat? Can you vary the heat with the temperature control slider?!?
Go to the auto parts store and buy a hand-held vacuum pump. Disconnect the vacuum line to the vacuum sourse hose on the engine, attach to pump to the control line and see if you can draw and hold a vacuum on the controls. If so, the problem is most likely in the vacuum hoses from the engine or the vacuum reservoir tank. If not, you may have a leak in one or more of the control bellows under the dash.
Check it out and let us know what you find.
I had a similar problem I posted three years ago with my 1986 740. Search the posts for my story.
