Instrument Cluster Lights Intermitten

Post by TheCynicalCanuck »

I just bought a 95 850 Turbo and the main problem with the car is the instrument cluster and other interior lights don't work properly. There are times where it'll work before starting the cars engine but go back off once it's running. I already checked fuse #35 and it was fine. The trip gage and instruments still work, just not the lights.

I was thinking it might be the ignition switch, what do you guys think?

My bet is on the dimmer switch. You can often clean it by spraying in some electrical contact cleaner and then swiping it back and forth a dozen times or so. On all of mine, even after cleaning, there is a dead spot at full bright but if I move the slider just below that they work fine.

Well the thing it the lights come on for a split second then go away so that's why I don't think it's the dimmer switch but I'll give it a shot once I get home.
