Hey guys,
First post but I've been reading your posts for a while. I've been bringing my XC70 back to life (previous owner didn't take good care of it). I just replaced my PCV system and today a got a check engine light and the reader says it's code 612. Is that in any way related to me working on the PCV system? I reconnected all of the vacuum lines and cleaned the tcv nipple. Thanks for any advice.

A code 612 doesn't really make any sense. What code reader are you using?
Typically the error codes have a Pxxxx format where the xxxx are numbers and they are 4 digit.
Some codes readers will give ECM codes but they are different than P codes. If you can clarify the code and the format we will take a crack at getting you an answer.

Snap a picture of the error code and post please. I scanned both DTC and ECM code tables but don't find 612 there

I think you are in the diagnostics system and its got the wrong software for Volvo
Go back to the OBD menu and read the DTC codes and see if you can pull out a Pxxxx where xxxx are numbers from that menu

After doing some research it seems that code 612 is the equivalent to generic code 0442 which is either the j-hose or the gas cap. I ordered both and once I replace I will report back. Thanks again!

I think OBD Codes might be different in UK based on this thread or the AUTEL code map might be different
