1998 S70/Oil leak

Just got my S70 yesterday.I really like the model alot.had an 850GLT for a while.

went to check the condition of the plugs and found oil on top of the head.
I have not had a chance to get a manual.
I cleaned the mess and started the engine did not see any leaking but that was at idle.
there is a hose that comes from the top of the head and routed around towards the front of the oil filler spout
I guess this is crankcase vent or turbo oil line.
it almost looks like its leaking from the filler spout.do these gaskets go bad.

Yes, you need to change the oil filler gasket every couple of oil changes.

You need PN 940096 for 65 cents each. Get a 1/2 dozen or so.

I agree with pfeener, but I only change mine every 5 or 6 oil changes (2 times a year is what that works out to with the miles I drive!), but if that doesn't fix the problem, check the little hose that your referred to. It is indeed part of the breather system or PCV system on this car. If it is not tightened down well or if the hose is bad it can leak like you have indicated.

You would think someone would design a better gasket material.
