WTB: Low cost and fun to drive

Post by Roger_850T »

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for another Volvo. Want to keep the cost to $2000 - $2500. (Less is ok.) Need another car to drive while I'm working on the others. (And let the kid drive when I'm not using it.)

Cars I'm considering:
V70, either late 90's or 2003-4
C70
940/960, B230FT or 6 cyl whiteblock
Turbo preferred.

FWD is ok, maybe even preferred over AWD - less to break and maintain.

I don't mind mechanical issues, and expect to do a suspension tune-up. Would rather deal with mechanical issues than torn up interior, although finding a nice interior is seeming to be difficult.

I'm in Maryland - closer is better. I can drive to get something, but don't want to spend half the budget shipping a car across the country.

Budget is the only thing that's really firm - everything else I'm open on. (As long as its fun to drive...) Let me know if you've got a car that's looking for a new home!

I just bought a 2003 S80... Not quite as exciting as I was hoping for, but the price was right... (Local Ford dealer took it in on trade, and offered it on Craigslist as-is, essentially at wholesale...) I couldn't pass it up!

Would a cared for (no details yet) 2004 XC70 with LOW mileage have interested you?

I revived this thread because the vehicle mentioned is coming down the pike.

Details w/o July 23, 2017
