I used my car for a day without any signs of anything being wrong with it.
The temperature gauge was fine; there was no low coolant warning light, no steam, no leaks on the ground...
(Note:I have check the coolant level often without noticing any signs of it disappearing anywhere.)
The next day when I started the car, the low coolant warning light was on right away. I stopped the engine immediately.
I found out that the top of the radiator had cracked.
I replaced the radiator with a new one, filled the system with new coolant and started the car.
Now the coolant is pouring from somewhere else.
Everything around the oil dipstick area and left of it is wet.
My guess is the water pump leaks.
My question is: if the radiator burst open and some coolant leaked out, what would be the next thing to get damaged as a consequence of this?
i.e. where would you look next?
First the radiator cracked, now the coolant pours out 2000 V70 Topic is solved

I would look for a hose popped off while doing the job, like what kahl describes. If it didn't overheat, I wouldn't expect other damage. If it did overheat, all bets are off ...

kahl wrote:In the dip stick area you have the upper and lower thermostat housing. There is also a hose that comes off the thermostat housing leading to a banjo bolt under the intake manifold.
I think you only have the banjo on a turbo, not on an NA. that would leave the thermostat, housing, ECT, or a cracked block ( very unlikely)

I had to work on the car outside and the temperature was 0F last night. By the time I was able to test it, it was dark and I was frozen. Today I was able to take a second look. Once the engine warmed up and the thermostat opened, there was a noticeable leak from underneath the upper hose where it meets the thermostat housing. Originally I had reused the old hoses and hose clamps and it didn't work. I got new hose clamps on all of the connections and I think I got it fixed.

Thanks everybody!
