V70r wont rev past 4000rpm

Hi eveyone im a newbie here.my 98 v70r has recently started idling rough and when i floor it ,it wnt go past 4000rpm.so iv changed maf n it goes to 6000rpm in 1st gear but only 5000rpm in 2nd gear?????.can anyone shed some light plz.oh and it used to throw up a p0171 code everytime i started car but after changing maf it hasnt thrown any codes since????

Another cool AWD manual transmission - why do only the Queens people get nice things?

There well may be a rev limiter in the ECU code that is gear dependent - I don't know.

are thw ignition components pretty new and OEM? If not, this is my guess.

Il check dizzy cap n rotor arm wen home they are original volvo

O had similar symptoms, mainly in humid conditions. Turned out the wires and cap and dizzy were almost 20 years old. Made a huge difference.

Tbh the cap is less than 5yrs old n i average 1500 miles a yr but il check rotor arm n dizzy cap when i get hme cheers

Sorted it.was pipe from boost valve to intake pipe had come offf.cheerrs
