Hello Volvo Forum fans,
I recently installed a rebuilt 4t65e transmission, no surprise right! After I got everything back together I attempted to start the car and it would crank but would not turn over. The new message (new meaning the other messages were there prior to the removal/install) on the dash indicated “Immobilizer See Manual”. After a few more attempts the Immobilizer message was replaced by “Reduced Engine Performance”. Also when the key is inserted into the ignition and turned to position II, the Check Engine Light stays lit for a few seconds and flashes 7 times and goes away. There was initially a P7000 code however I think this was related to the previous transmission (I cleared the code and it did not return). Otherwise there are no Engine or Transmission codes stored. I should mention some repairs that may be related to my problem. The flywheel position sensor connector deteriorated/detached and had to be repaired. However this was done prior to the transmission work and the car started without a problem. One of the two connectors (black/yellow wires-see attachment) on the transmission wiring hardness broke off during the removal. I had to repair it by splicing the wires to a new connector. My battery may be on its last leg, I had to re-charge it and it’s really old.
Also, can a used clock spring angle sensor be used to repairs an existing broken one?
Thank you for any help

I read maybe a week ago on another thread that a bad / exhausted battery can cause gremlins like this, so I'd start there. Are you sure the alternator is charging ok?
Thank for the reply Cees, the alternator was working fine prior to he removal/install. And the battery was fully charged but again it's old as dirt. From what I read on a related thread, it could be related to the engine/transmission mating surface.my re-manufactured transmission surface could be painted, didn't notice during installation. Both surfaces should pretty clean.

Any chance you have access to a VIDA/DiCE to read out the stored codes? I am not sure what the 7x flash on the CEL means, (or if it's significant,) but if you can read out the trouble code that is actually set and causing the CEL, it would be helpful for you.
