1988 740 Turbo, de-turbo?

Hi Group,

I plan on purchasing an 88 740 turbo in decent shape, with 200 plus K.

For curiousity sakes, what can I expect out the present turbo. Current owner says no leaks. When the turbo breaks or starts getting problematic, can I remove, or am I looking at an inexpensive repair(s)?

Without a turbo the car will only idle. Turbo is easy to change. Install a used one, not new. 300K is possible. Go for it.
