Can't get dust cover off low side port - 1998 V70

Post by jjones »

Hi All,

I'm trying to charge my A/C and can't seem to figure out how to get the dust cover off my low side port... Does it just pull off or does it twist? If it twists, it is way more than hand tight.

Thanks,

Jim

It twists off, since it has a bolt head on it it sounds like someone got a little aggressive in tightening it up last time. You can use a socket or a wrench to loosen it. When putting it back on I would just hand tighten it.

Thanks... I could not find a socket that fit... and it seems like it has a plastic coating over it. When I try to turn it w/ pliers, the plastic just scrapes. They must have really torqued it down!

Any other ideas on how to get it off?

Thanks,

Jim
