Unless steering wheels are removed, I would not be concerned.

My understanding of one system, it has to have mapping to work...so, it will work in mapped cities, but not elsewhere. These maps are created with someone driving a vehicle down the streets, like Google street maps...and of course, they must be updated with current roadway conditions. So, when the street crews are working on a street, this info must be entered into database...which means you need a cellphone to catch this new data.

I'm not aware of a system that is "autonomous."

Oh, Volvo's system is using maps also...they point out better mileage is possible by knowing road terrain...which means they are using a mapped database.
