2000 S70 B5244s engine timing issues

Post by hendrixscottie »

I have a 2000 S70 with a B5244s engine in it the other day the car loss power threw a number of codes up and a ETS light. Had it towed home and found the motor mount had broke letting the front pulley dig into the mount shredding the serpentine belt. After checking I found the timing was off on the car. I took the belt loose and ligned the marks back up but the motor still would not start. I have very little compression one the first cylinder are the chances pretty high that the timing jump warped a valve or more?

Hard to say on the timing. It is not unheard off for a shredded serpentine belt to make its way back under the timing belt cover and then get tangled up with the timing belt itself.

There are a couple of torx screws that hold the upper timing cover on and then just one bolt that hold on the lower part. Pop the cover and have a look.

If there are remnants of the serpentine belt in there with the timing belt then there is a good chance it jumped time and bent the valves.
