What are parts vendors not offering?

Like 302mm brake kits? What else?

Besides lower prices. We all want lower prices. And shipping to Canada. We all want more of that too. (Well, those of us who live in the Great Frozen North [not me] and are still able to type because we're not frozen.)

Are there parts that you're not finding?

Is it a matter of service?

What would you say to MVS sponsors' CEOs if you had a line in to them? (Consider this a line in to them. I'm going to email them with this topic URL.)

- The interior door plastic cups on the 850's. They are breaking every day and the dealer's don't have anymore.
- Roof trim for 850's and x70 cars.
- European door mirrors with the turn signal lights in them for the P80 cars (Like I have).

The lowered rear shocks for the P1's. There is no replacement for when my Heico rear socks wear out and Heico doesn't make them anymore. There are those using Koni's and modifying them but that's not a real alternative. Heico evidently had a patent agreement with Bilstein so they won't produce them for customers either. The only option is to take the coilovers off the front which means $$ because springs will need to be replaced too, and go back to stock or find another alternative. Mine are at 75K miles but by 100 I will have to make some decisions. Leaving the front like they are and just changing the rears looks funny and impacts driveability.

You can expand that to ALL interior and trim parts. The P80 parts are rapidly becoming unobtainable through the dealer network and, given the crappy quality of the OEM parts to begin with, the pick-n-pull replacements are usually just as busted up or deteriorated as what you are trying to replace.

It is sad that you have a powertrain that will chug along for a million miles but everything plastic on the car disintegrates before you can get there.

Drive shafts (originals, or good quality remans or aftermarkets). I bought an original Volvo one in Europe (Skandix) where I live but was surprised to see the usual vendors in the US (IPD, fcpeuro) don't offer them at all, or only cheap poor quality ones. Seems to be nothing in between new expensive original ones or cheap bad quality ones. Remans I could also not find online in the US.

It is unfortunate. I have to search more when I'm ready to start ordering all these parts, but I know there are quite a few small interior pieces I need. The little trim rings around the lock pins (I actually found a really nice set on an 850 at the JY, but I only grabbed one since I needed he door panel off to remove them and they crushed the car the next time I was there), the trim piece around the inside tailgate handle (every time I find a decent one, I forget how to strategically remove it and keep it in one piece), the driver's side a-pillar trim which I broke while vacuuming the car (arm hit it)... it's a long list.
Hopefully I can still get most of these things from FCP. I know I couldn't find the tailgate trim piece or the steering column clamshell.

Sm flywheels at a respectable price.
air ride kits to compete with the show crowd..
legit aftermarket dash pads for 850's and associated accessories ie vent delete to add map pocket or alternative cup holders.
Delete rear seat/cargo for insert package in 850's
Non abs master cylinder setup for 850's
