I'm starting to love my car.

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

There is very little play on the wires for the coolant sensor, so when you lift the tank and try to turn it over to look at the sensor you break the wires or sensor.

So, lift the tank just a bit, find the level sensor connector , disconnect, and voila! Part 31741155 for my 1999

Found good DIY here searching for "Abby", also has awesome link to the electrical part by pdlarsen

Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread, but we all have an answer.
I will order part and remove one more red light, with one to go.(SRS) :(
1998 V70 T5 331,000 :( Her last day was on 3 cylinders.
New to me 1999 V70 NA 163,000 Now at 217,000

Coolant level sensor is possibly the only "easy" replacement on the whole vehicle. =)

Pop the bottle out of the mount, flip it mostly upside down, pop the sensor out with a flathead, then disconnect the sensor. Pop the new one in until it clicks and reconnect the electrical connection.
