Greetings All,
Is there a thread on how to replace the crank and cam sensors? I have been having the NO START!! curse! wich has reoccured after a month, I have been reading through the threads all day ( i was supposed to be working.l...lol) and i have come to the conclusion that one of these sensors is the culprit. the local repair shop which is down the road from where i work gave me an estiment of $600 U.S to replace both. I saw somewhere on here it takes 30 min or so to replace, however i could not find any instructions. If it is a fairly simple Job then i could do it myself and save my money for an 80gig Ps3..........lol Thanks

both sensors are easy to repair and by no means should take you that long to replace.
If you have a 94..read the codes on board to see whats the issue.
I took off both the cam and rpm sensor off an engine im getting rid off and it took me no more than 15 minutes to do both. They cost brand new about 250 for the set...so im not sure why your being charged tht much.
I have both going for 75 used..so see if you can find it locally in the junkyard... not something you want to spend lots of money on specially if its not the cause of your no start.

Ditto...I did this too, its really, really... easy to do. You'll need a big torx socket or driver for the cam sensor (torx 30 or a 35 I think). I think the rpm sensor is just a regular bolt (10mm maybe). Its important that the sensor wires are tucked well away from the spark plug cables as there can be electrical interference. Also make sure the cables aren't going to touch anything that'll melt them (I made this mistake an burnt a little wire insulation). Again, make sure you are getting codes for both. If you were going to pay someone to do it - it really shouldn't take a pro more then 10 minutes. You might want to get a Haynes repair manual and some torx sockets if you're thinking about working on your car . Good luck.

He ran a diangnostic check on he sensors and found no problems.......so now i guess i will have to tqke my car and my jar of Vasoline to the "specialist".....the only thing i can think of is when we hwere putting it on the back of the roolback or unloading off it must have knock something into place.........any body have any thoughts?

I have had similar issues, though not the crank sensor, but my cam shaft position sensor went out and it give three codes on the computer(one caueses the next and that causes the next). But when that sensor goes out there is no intermitancy about it. So if it started again, I would look at replacing the fuel pump relay, especially if there are no codes, as I don't think that sets off codes. There are great threads here on how to replace these, what the symptoms are and even how to rebuild them. good luck
