Amazing how struts and springs make such a difference
My mechanic at Osteen Volvo Service Department didn't feel it was time yet but I insisted new struts, springs, and all the mounts etc be replaced. I just read so many posts on here about broken springs nearly causing accidents that I was feeling nervous with 13 years and 134K could I have a spring fail on the interstate and cause a crash. Also so many posts about the strut mounts failing as well and how oem is the only way to go. Of course oem Volvo from a Volvo parts department is all I allow to be used on my car anyway. Volvo does offer some parts rebuilt by Volvo, but I always insist on the factory new parts for my car, that being said if you drive a older car like my 2004 S80 T6 with the original struts and springs, REPLACE THEM! I can't believe how slowly over the years the front sagged a good inch and a half, and how the car just didn't hold the road good or sit right. I thought it still drove good until I picked it up today with the new struts. Just night and day! I just can't say enough how struts and springs effect the drive of the car. I just wanted to remind others on here to not overlook replacing struts when maintaining your Volvo. June
