It's so easy to place a camera or phone in the dash of our P80s, it's almost as if they were designed for recording these kinds of travels!

I guessing you got through at least one state in less time than it might take you to navigate through Atlanta rush hour traffic. Every day is a road trip in the ATL and not a good one as you know. My record commute time was 13 hours for snowpocalypse - an unusual event. My record commute time for a regular event (spring rain storm during rush hour) was 3.5 hours. I need to start thinking about my commute as a daily road trip - might be more fun that way.

ZionXIX, I checked one transport case with a toothbrush and 49.5 lbs of tools in it (the max was 50 lb), and I made sure anything sharp or long and pointy or heavy and clubby was in that case. I had about another 15-20 lbs of small tools (sockets) and a T-shirt in a cardboard box that was smaller than 'under seat' dimensions as carry-on. TSA did pull me aside and they dug through the box, but they didn't hassle me about the sockets.

I didn't even try to go home during snowpocalypse -- I moved my 850 wagon up the hill to the main road, and periodically stepped out of my office to watch the incredible traffic problems. When the traffic cleared a little, I used the wagon to run for coffee and donuts -- it handled the ice/snow just fine. I always put a bag of cat litter in the car in case I get stuck on an ice patch, but I didn't need it.

That was NOT the way this 850 sedan ran though, with whatever is going on with the suspension eating the tires in the rear. I got snowed/sleeted on a little in New Mexico Thursday (Friday?) night, and that car was all over the road. The back end kept trying to pass the front end, and I was only going about 30 mph on the interstate, so I got off the road and took a nap til the next morning. The slightest bit of water on the road, or a rough road, would make the instability start up all over again.

Here's one I took en route -- I think you can see it sagging in the rear. The interior is better than the exterior. When I noticed that turn light was out of place, I was able to pop it right back into position with no trouble. The odometer, remote locking, power widows, power roof -- just about everything still works. The ABS light is on and the radio won't power up, and the windshield is cracked. It has the Volvo amp behind the radio. One of the backup lights didn't work, so I changed both bulbs and now neither one works.

I think this is the best car purchase I've ever made, even though it did try to kill me in New Mexico. And I'm partial to wagons.
