I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. I found similar issues on this forum, but could find nothing to my specific problem.
My passenger window was rolled all the way down, and has not been responsive in rolling up from both the drivers switch and the passenger switch. All the other windows (including sunroof) are responsive and fully functional. I figured (based on what everyone else on the forum said with similar problems) it could be a faulty master switchpack. I ordered a new one, installed it, and the problem was not resolved, so the switchpack is not the issue. When I try to roll the window up with the switchpack control driver side, there is no noise at all coming from the door. When I try to roll it up from the passenger side, no noise. However when I press the passenger switch down, there is a tiny thump that can be heard.
I really dont want to have to pay somone $600 to fix this problem if I can do it myself. Is the problem in the motor? The regulator? would I be fine taking replacement parts from a scrap yard? I leave for an 800 mile road trip for college in a week and don't have that much time. At the very least how can I get the window to roll up? I am pretty unsavvy when It comes to cars but am eager to learn! Any help is appreciated! Thanks so much for your time!

I would suggest taking the door panel off and having a look.
Unplug the connector to the window motor and try to power it with a separate 12V power supply. You would have to get a little creative and make up a cable that you can use for this. If the window moves up, you have an electrical problem to deal with.
If nothing happens, you have either a bad motor or a bad regulator. At this point I would take the motor out and see if it runs when powered from a different source, i.e. your made up cable.
Disclaimer: I have never dealt with a problem like this myself, this is just a plan of attack I just came up with.
Hope this helps,
Dirk

More often than not, the problem that you've described is caused by the master,
but if you dropped a fresh one in there and it's still inop for going up, I have a
pretty strong feeling that you'll need a new switch in the door of that window.
Power AND ground get run through master, then the local and finally to the motor.
To enable up and down, power and ground get opened or closed at either switch,
so there are a lot of contacts that can fail.
