I did that, the fuel pump supplies two black wires with a plug attached and the sending unit has and oranges wires with a plug. I tried switching them didn't work. On the top of the sending unit itself the part you can see when the unit is installed is there anything that is supposed to plug into the top of that? the shade tree mechanic that did the work before said that nothing plugged into the top side of the sending unit even though there is a place to plug something in. Could the PEM have anything to do with it?

Fuel pump is brand new and works great it just doesn't pull gas from the other side of the tank.shiloh51933 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2017, 06:39 I'll say it again, fuel pump is on way out!!

NEW UPDATE!!!! I was looking at the fuel pump hose connections to make sure the were snug and then I got to looking at the actual plug itself. Most of the wires were melted together and one of the heavier gauge wire was almost severed in two so I pulled them apart fixed the wires and I think the second motor in the pump is now working and pulling fuel from the driver's side part of the tank. Fuel gauge still a no go. There has to be a fuse for the fuel gauge. where is it????

when the fuel gauge stopped working I was looking right at it, it read about 1/3 full and then dropped straight to empty. When I turn the key to start position the needle doesn't move or even flicker, it's like it's not getting any power to it. all gauges work fine. the sending unit looks to be brand new. I paid for it to be replaced and it looks like he did replace it. I've read other posts about there being a ground wire that could be loose or broke that could cause this problem. It's supposed to be on the tank but I can't find it. can anyone tell me where it is? 2006 volvo 2.5 T5 Turbo.
