Thinking of purchasing a 960 any suggestions

Hello,

Im new to Volvo's i currently drive VW, I work at a car dealer and a nice clean one owner 1994 Volvo 960 came in, I have a great deal on it and the vehicle runs and drives smooth and nice. i recently have been looking up reviews and making calls on what people think about this model. I get two answers. either great or dont buy. what are any of your guy's suggestions? its actually at Volvo specialist right now getting a once over before i purhcase. Im just wanting to know what true peoples opinions are.

I am still of the opinion that the 960 was a very good car - from 1994 on. I would definitely buy another.

thank you for your response. im just trying to figure out reliablility. i am prepared to fix normal wear and tear things. but im curious as to if the vehicle is maintianed how well its performance is. also i am not going to be towing with the vehicle. just a daily driver. I have photos at home will post later

I love my '94 960, it's pearl in color with dark grey leather interior and one of my coworkers thought it was a new car the first day I drove it in ... but the a/c is hopeless, every component has been replaced and it still won't keep running on a hot day ... it's over 100F here on an average summer day and we leave it parked because the a/c will blast ice cold for about fifteen minutes, then the compressor stops ... I've bypassed the sensor on the side of the compressor, topped up the oil and freon and had the system checked by my local repair shop ... no idea what the problem is so it must be a design flaw ... if you live somewhere you don't need much heating or cooling it's a gorgeous car, but if it gets very cool or hot where you are, you might want to look at another brand
