Depending on where you live, the cost of shipping, especially oil- considered hazardous, will cost you a small fortune to ship. More cost effective simply to buy new product and dump the oil at local recycling facility.

I wish I lived closer to Connecticut, or maybe if FCP was closer to Texas. A flat rate priority box might work. The size I looked at was 12 x 12 x 5.5. It costs like $18.50 for me to ship it to FCP. Next oil change I plan to order the oil first, Its like $53 for the kit I chose which gets free shipping, then return what I drain out during the oil change + the filter, plug and washer that came in the original kit. I would then be reimbursed for the $53.00. So thats $18.50 for new high quality oil + filter + draing plug. I want to believe.....Dont ruin this for me

I looked up the hazardous material list on USPS.com and it does not mention oil specifically. It does say you cannot ship flammable materials with a flashpoint below 200oF, the oil I ordered has a flashpoint of 240oC. Much higher than the minimum required for shipping. I dont think there will be too much of an issue in shipping.

Unless the truck shipping it consumes an irregular amount of oil... an empty jug and Ziploc'd filter with drain plug/crush washer will be all that's transported!

tryingbe, most customers will purchase the new oil ahead of time so that their car isn't down. Once the oil is returned back to FCP EURO we'll process the return and credit the method of payment in your newest order.

If you didn't want to place the order ahead of time, you can remove the item(s) from your car, send them back, and once processed, use the credit to make a new order.

Which ever method works best for you, we try to make it as easy as possible for everyone.

I broke a CCV valve putting it into my BMW, returned it with a full confessional, and got credit for my part broken by me.

Well done, and cementing the buy from FCP habit for me.

FCP is GREAT!!!!

The first time I used them I was having lunch in Milford CT, where I go very often,
and was checking out online where it said pick up your parts in Milford CT? Ha, I
drove 3 miles down the road and picked up the parts.
This was the corporate headquarters and there was a lot of white and mirrors it
felt like an Apple company or something. It was rather strange to be in a corporate
environment with dirty parts. But sure enough I paid with a credit card and the
parts came out to the front desk.
Somebody figured out that they were not zoned for walk in and it is not allowed
anymore, very unfortunate.
Still, amazing return policy, can't believe it.

All kidding about oil returns aside, FCP is one of the best companies I've ever dealt with, across any business channel, both personal and professional.
  • I've experienced their "C"-suite executives personally answer emails sent to the general "contact us" links, and follow up later to ensure the issue was resolved,
  • I've had employees reach out to me after buying a full suspension kit to make sure I correctly listed my year and model in the order, and upgrade my shipping without being asked,
  • One-off part orders they don't normally stock fulfilled quickly and at a very reasonable price
  • Quick and compete answers to part numbers and compatibility questions
I've not yet had an opportunity to take them up on the lifetime replacement guarantee, but i have a feeling, even for engine oil, they would honor it, and later ask if I was satisfied with their service.

I won't be taking them up that offer for oil, however.
