2003 p0113 error

Post by SantaFe75 »

Please someone help.

I just picked up a 2003 s60 2.4t from a family member. It turns out to have been in an accident. I have no idea of what is original and belongs, and what parts some dumb a** put in to make it work. Case in point, there are a LOT of connectors that come out of the harness and go nowhere.

Which brings me to my current problem, I have the code P0113 High IAT. It is a recurring fault.

I have cleaned the MAF assembly with CRC MAF cleaner, nothing (expected). I went to get a V measurement from the MAF harness and noticed that it is a 5 pin connector (as is the sensor), but only has 4 wires to it, is that correct? I read that that '03+ s60's IAT is integral to the MAF, shouldn't all 5 sensor pin's have a connection to the ECU?
When I probed the wires (engine off) I got #2, batt V+ #4, 5V+. 3 & 5 showed +V with the engine running, however they did not fluctuate much regardless of RPM.

My MAF is the "correct" 8088, is my harness for an older s60 with the separate IAT? What should the pins read on my DIMM. Can this be fixed?

I have been searching all of the forums for the past week. I can not find usable solutions anywhere. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

On a side note, what are normal turbo readings for a LPT Volvo?

Quick update. I now have a pending P0299, underboost condition. Looks like I have more reading to do.

I appreciate all of the help I have received reading the other posts here on MVS. Just wondering why nobody wanted to chime in on mine? I was able to reconnect all of the cut wires, and have since lost all codes. (except of course the DIM fault)

Some posts slip thru unnoticed.
The info you posted initially was kinda vague, connectors going nowhere, no pics to illustrate what they look like.

Components are made for many applications so it's possible not all pins are used on an application.

If you post a part number it's much easier to confirm fitment. Bosch pin assignments are on their data sheets, too.

If you scour the web, you can find the wiring diagram for your car, that will show you the MAF pins, too.

On my 2005 there are five pins

1 common 12V supply from ECM

Two closed loop CANBUS connections which I suspect are air temp and air flow parameters. All connect direct to ECU
