Need Help Buying a new Wheel/rim

Post by plumsmooth »

I found these wheels that have the exact same specs as my 6,5jx15h2 but my model vehicle is not listed in the chart.
What's further frustrating me is that the models around my year are cited for fitment.
Namely 1998 v70 and 1995 850's. Offset is the same, measurements, and lug pattern same...

Can't find any at the local salvage yards.
And I really liked the idea of spending 60 Bucks and getting a pair of these black steel ones:

Is there something here I am missing as to why these wheels would not fit my 97 Volvo Wagon?
The Volvo tech I called said could be the fitment of the hub?

Thanks a lot for your time.

This one is a Spoke match in addition to all the other specs but also doesn't fit by the chart.

according to Volvo parts sites (dealer) the steel rims fit all 5 lug P80s, 94 850-thru 2004 C70. So the steelies should be good.
The alloy rim you list is called Argo, and there were 4 lug and 5 lug versions. As long as you get a 5 lug, you should be fine. And there are lots of them out there.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

I guess the center bore 65.1 is the other important measurement?
I found these on amazon that at least say they fit!:

OR should I go with these lightweight alloy for 5 dollars more that come with A hub cap?

As you have 15" wheels you have removed the only major issue which is the possibility of having the larger rotors which could be fitted to 16" wheeled cars from new. So basically other than that there are no differences between 94-00 models and many beyond that as P2 models. The inner bore of 65.1mm is the more important one. Offsets of 38-49mm should also be ok, but on FWD models make sure the rear parking brake cables have the plastic hold back in place between the mount forward of the rear axle and the hub, or there is potential for the cable to run on deeper offsets (bigger the offset number the deeper the wheel goes into the inner fender).

Also as has been stated, just make sure it is a 5 lug bolt ( 5 x 108mm) wheel.

Good luck with the search!
