2007 S40 on sale in NYC for $2600...

Does this mean that the car has had serious water damage? I've noticed that quite a few cars on CL seem to have these odd water stains on seats. Any thoughts? Also, that 07 armrest... didn't know it was of wet bread, too...

T-Tec interiors stain like this even in the absence of water. My ex girlfriend has an 04.5 with that interior- I tried to clean it up and made it much, much worse.
Pulling up the carpet around door sills and the trunk will tell you what you need to know, look for sand and silt in the spare tire well.
To this day I haven't figured out exactly what the dealer did to get them as clean as they were when she bought it. Image

These cars are however notoriously bad for leaky windshields and sunroof drains.

Agree on the cloth insert staining. I had a V50 with that upholstery and sweating drink cups placed between legs did that very same thing.
