Volvo S80 starter won't crank
First off sorry for another post I just cannot find what I'm looking for on the forum. So my car has been stArting up lately even tho it has been running in limp mode.I drove it to the post office today with the radio on(which I usually have turned off because the battery problem) and when I went to start my car to leave my car would not start. All the lights turned on and everything worked but the starter would not click. Also the windows would work but only for a second then would not work.with all the lights still being on. I got someone to try and give me a jump. I had the cables on for 10 mins and tried to start and still no crank. I touched the 2 terminals together on the starter and still no crank.all the wires are hooked up on it correctly and everything else powers on. Could this be an ecm problem??

Sounds like a classic case of battery cable or terminal corrosion to me. A third possibility, though less likely, a failed battery. Some current gets through but not enough to run the starter. Operating the windows pulls more current across the bad connection, the voltage drops, and the electronics that control the windows drop functionality.
1. Check/clean the battery terminal posts and reconnect. If problem persists,
2. Connect jumper cable: one end to the battery negative(-), the other end to the chassis. If the car starts and/or other problems alleviate (such as windows working momentarily) the problem is with the negative (black) cable. If this makes no difference then the problem is with the positive (red) cable.
Cable/terminal corrosion issues tend to present more often in cool damp conditions such as early spring.

First, you need to measure battery voltage. Second, can you see on the display some messages when turn on key to 2d position?
