88 760 turbo , eliminate the MAF sensor with cold air in ?

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

88 760 turbo , eliminate the MAF sensor with cold air in ?

Post by rmcmighty »

I am very new to the whole Volvo thing and have just purchased this 88 760 turbo with only 143,000 km.s .... I am loving it !
I Would really like to install a cold air intake but do not know where to start and have been told that i should eliminate the Mass Airflow Sensor if i do ! I find this hard to believe .
Could somebody give me some suggestions please

No matter which Volvo, you cannot eliminate the MAF. It gives your ECU (computer) information for adjusting the fuel/air ratio. You'll have to find a way to incorporate it into your new duct work.

Will it hurt the engine or turbo by eliminating the " Preheating thermostat assembly in the bottom of the air cleaner box ? and will this give me any extra pony's ?
