Exactly the same - the bolts are actually easier to get to on a 1999.

Double check the part number before you order; I'm not sure if that's one of the differences between a 1999 and 1998. I think it's the same.

Thanks for the response! It sounds manageable now. Do you also happen to know if this the right part for the CTS? http://www.ipdusa.com/products/5728/113129-engine-coolant-temperature-sensor. Again, a 99 V70 non-turbo. It appears to be correct, according to ipd, but I wanted to verify. Thanks so much!

Well...yes. But that's aftermarket.

Everyone I've heard of that's used an aftermarket temp sensor had their car acting like crap afterwards. Volvo's are super picky about their sensors - so go OEM and don't have to replace it again in a short while.

Could there be another temp sensor, I replace thermostat, came with new sensor.
Radiator fan not turning on, also did this for previous owner I believe.

Vida can turn on fan, but ecu cannot, any ideas?

seth1991- yes, I believe so. Just don't get an aftermarket sensor. Make sure you get the right one. If in doubt about a local one, look on FCPEuro.com to make sure. I went through a ton with problems before I bought the right one!!
