XC60 T6 Rough Idle

Post by Turbo6 »

I have 2009 XC60 T6 that I bought couple of months ago, all was good on the car, had it checked by dealer before purchase.

Noticed recently that car idles a bit rough but only once it is warmed up, RPMs are dead stable, MPG is the same, the vibration is same in P, R or D, and it is not really constant roughness either. Like sometimes it is more noticeable and sometimes is almost not there, very strange and when just cold starting the car the vibration is not there . Any ideas what this could be, I thought maybe vacuum leak somewhere?

It is not such dramatic vibration and something you would notice if you never drove the car, but I guess I drive it every day and notice the change in the idle vibrations more. Since I never owned similar engine and car before, maybe it is normal thing to have a bit rougher idle on T6?

Will take it to service...when I find the time :D but just curious if anyone had same issues?

I have 2009 XC60 T6 with similar issues also, even to the point of stalling. It has just started happening so I am interested if you have found a solution as yet.

Did not had time to check with service as it is so far away I have to almost get a day off from work. But mine is not having any serious issues like stalling, and annoyingly it is never the same amount of vibration, sometimes it is almost not there and sometimes very annoying.

I thought it was engine mounts at first, but then, how come it starts with warm engine only, shouldn't the vibration be the same all the time.

If anyone bothers to read, my engine vibrations problem seemed to be connected with the loose turbo hose that was leeking small amount of oil.

Service guys noticed it during regular service, tightened the hose and the vibration is completelly gone now.

I'm having the same "slight" rough idle. Check Engine came on. My OBDII detected fuel rich. I changed the air filter and used a bottle of injector cleaner. Check engine still off 750 miles later (success), but every now and then I feel a hesitant idle at stop lights. Does this car have a fuel filter? Any other ideas? Where is the Turbo hose you mention? Picture possible?

I guess it's the turbo air intake hose, I have no pics since it was dealers service and they asked me if I am willing to allow them to do it. It was a bit bigger cost as they need to take away lots of stuff to reach the hose, so maybe they accidentally fixed something loose also. Not sure about it.
