Did this just because . . . to match the maroon color of the car!
I should have gotten the exact color (shade) of the car.

Hey Oka!

What did you end up painting it with? Any issues with surface prep? Any issues with it sticking?

Been thinking of pulling mine and Cerakoting them to see how they'll hold up. I can mix and match colors to get the correct shade, so it's very tempting.

Just wondering if there was a need/desire for it and I think you might have started my ball rolling!

Cheers!

At the glove box I notice yours didn't have the wood trim or silver. I could see the interior all black with no accents seeming a little boring.

True, the base plastic trim over the glove box and doors handle are quite boring and not that hard to replace (the lock washers that keep them in place can be cut and replaced with new ones). I've tried the silver trim but went finally with the wooden one.

I think the wood looks nicest too.

Why I did this? Simply just because. Or, somehow to add some 'style' to the interior as mrbian200 mentioned.
The interior was all black. My other XC70 is more tastful than this maroon one.

I got the paint from NAPA Auto Pain department. I used primer and clear-coat. Oh, I encounted a lot of headaches along the way.
Just went to a known auto paint store in town and got me an aerosol can ($37) to match the exterior; there are two shades for the same
year depending on where the particular car was manufactured. Go figure!

I am going to redo all the doors again. Got better directions and so hope this time, it will come out better. When am done, I will
surely post what I went through the current project and how I finally got the new one done (hoping it will come out much better).
This time, it should be much better. Plan on doing it very very very soon. Am very anxious! This current project was done all wrong.

By the way, I had wanted to add a design to them but would entail a lot more work and could go very wrong if I don't have equipment for it.

Thanks.

I would imagine the rubberized paint coating on the door handle gave a bit of trouble. That would have had be stripped off before anything would stick to the plastic handle.

My handles are not "rubberized"; all plastic. Including the inner handle cover.
