Dear all.

Did the control arms, ball joints and sway bar links - all moog parts. Real PITA without the ball joints puller and spring compressor :( i ended up with ratchet straps everywhere. finished up at 3AM.
One MOOG arm had misaligned threads - a real pain to get the bolts to grab the thread without crossing :(

New tires also helped a lot with the vibratoin - going today for an alignment.

THX all for your help - will keep you posted post--alignemnt

Alignement done. One front wheel toe adjusted, rest was within spec. One rear wheel borderline on camber but they say they can't change that.

Unfortunately I still have these vibrations when breaking hard - mostly when downhill. I need to verify - but I wonder whether it is worth when the brakes are already hot or no.
Discs do not appear wrapped at all - when spinning by hand you don't see, feel or hear any change in the contact pad w/ discs.
Can a wrapped disc be seen by eye? Need to unmount and measure in a workshop ?

Also, I would have thought that if it were the discs I'd feel it in the brake pedal - which I don't, the vibration is the whole car and the steering - and also it would happen as well with more moderate braking, which it does not :(

I need to change my front pads - but I'm a bit relunctant to change discs while doubting it could be that :(

What about your upper strut mount seats? These will cause shaking if they are bad.

For your brakes you need to check front and back. Going slow, lightly depress pedal, do you hear anything. Maybe try on slight slope and smooth road. Think of your rotor as a bike wheel and your bike brakes as the brake pads to visualize what is going on. It sounds like the ones you examined are fine.

Check everything that attaches to the knuckle up front - and do likewise in back.

I see some bushings that Viva Performance sells that may help, but they are not cheap.

Dear all, thx for all advice.

I bought new rotors and new pad and some brake fluid - thinking whilst I'm down there let's bleed that.
After mounting the right front rotor - I realised WTF this looks warped. ???? ... hold on .. .not the rotor, the rest!! (See video link at the end)
So I undo the new rotor - thinking how come I did not see that last time I looked??? So I put back the old rotor -- - -video 2 .. .stil WTF HOW DID I MISS THAT???

Question 1 : hub or knuckle?? Please don't tell me both ::::(((((
Question 2: am I overoptimistic ?? Or does it sound like THE ideal culprit - maybe this time I'll actually fix t

PS: Old disk are thinner than new ones as can be expected - no proper tool to measure it so don;t know whether still lots of life or out of spec....

THX

What you describe doesn't make sense. The wheel bearing should remove any play behind it. So that leaves your rotors. It appears you push them back in from time to time.

Did you put a flat edge on them? That will tell you. Measure from a five to six places front and back.

My hunch is you do not have the axle bolt torqued properly allowing play.

Okay - I did a little looking. I don't think what you are showing is conclusive. The rotor can move around until the wheel is fully bolted to the hub. As you display it only one little bolt is holding it at one point. Once all of the lug nuts are installed with the wheel the rotor will be fully secured to the wheel bearing.
