So whats everyone's best self pick score

Post by Garaba »

So today I was enjoying my day off looking for some un-cracked interior pieces and and a new Cup Holder for my V70. Also to practice getting a sunroof out.

Then I saw it. Another V70 with an obviously seized engine. And on top..... The official Volvo Thule roof box. The rails where a little damaged. Someone was trying to get it off without the security torx driver. But I had rails, I wanted the box. And I also happened to have a security torx driver.

So 5 minutes later, I am dragging the roof box to the cashier. Once I am in line, I had a thought. Once it was my turn I asked if I could see the alarm fobs for imports. And low and behold, the fob for a 2000 V70 had a Thule key on it.

20$ for the roof box, 15$ for the key. And I am up one sexy V70 XC accessory.

My question for evetyone is , "What is your best Junkyard Score?!"

Wow, good score!
I've gotten a couple SC-901s and XC grilles (one of each on my car now). Those seem to be my thing at the junkyard, hahaha.
Also a Homelink mirror, which I never thought I'd find at the junkyard. Plus my black leather steering wheel which I love.
There was a Saffron '98 V70R there a while back, and I wish I could have taken the whole car! Every single R specific part was stripped from it by the time I got to it, though.

Tryingbe, I hope you did something useful with those 5 turbos. Like a quint-turbo setup...

Or machine and rebuild them into 19T and sell them for a profit.

Canvas soft top with glass rear window and rubber rain rail for my 97 Miata. It needed minor fixing, but that didn't take long and the thing didn't leak afterward. Saved me the trouble of rebuilding a soft top for $400 in parts and a day of labor.

I still think you should build a quint turbo setup.

Btw., how much do you want for one of these 19Ts?
