1992 240 DL Turn Indicator fuse keeps blowing
Re: 1992 240 DL Turn Indicator fuse keeps blowing
I was finally able to locate a new turn indicator switch (for a reasonable price) and installed it. I am still blowing fuses. I am beginning a log of failures and most ( not all) of them have happened when the headlights have been turned on which leads me to think the tail lights were the problem. However, I removed the tail lights and still blew a fuse. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Lapelpin, I've gone through your thread again and a couple of things come to mind.
It may be beneficial to double check any grounding points on that circuit since you've ruled out pretty much everything else, unless of course there's some sort of fault in the bulb holders themselves, but you've checked the switch, wiring, neighboring accessories, etc.
I didn't notice any mention of the front turn signals. Have you taken a look at the wires for the front? I think they're tied in with a wiring harness but may be worth a look in case any wires are chaffing against bare metal. (Also, have you tried removing the front directional lamps, as you did the rear?)
Thanks,
Darrell

Darrell,
I have tried removing the front directional lamps also and have checked the wiring harness but everything is worth a second (or third look). I will also check the grounding points as you suggest. Thanks for the reply and I will post the results.
