I don't think I can speak directly to the impact of the poly in the tranny mount, as I replaced both bushing the upper torque with poly at the same time as they were shredding.
And that, I wouldn't recommend! When I started it up after, I thought I broke my car!
From outside the vehicle, it sounds normal. Get in the driver seat, and yikes! Teeth chattering, and gets worse when put in gear.

The smaller ones are M10x1.50. I got the same set from AutoZone it worked greatscot850 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2017, 12:57 Sorry but don't know the thread than obviously metric.
If you have a bolt supplier locally they should be able to ID the thread for you.
Some time ago I bought a thread fixer the re-cuts the threads of bolt/studs and holes. I bought it at Princess Auto here in Canada, but I would be surprised if Harbor Frieght or the likes does not have one. It has saved my butt several times.
BigRed good to see you are still out there! How do you find the shift changes with the Powerflex bushes? Are they a bit rougher and do you get more vibrations through the steering? Thanks for the part numbers, I have a few lower torque rods that need new bushes to keep as spares or pass on!

I've found that if you drive the car then loosen the bolts up and retighten them, it helps with the vibration a lot. I think the mounts need to settle into position and after that the vibration reduces.BigRed wrote: ↑29 Jul 2017, 13:52 I don't think I can speak directly to the impact of the poly in the tranny mount, as I replaced both bushing the upper torque with poly at the same time as they were shredding.

That sounds like a good idea as the engine will need to settle, especially if the old ones had been bad for a while.
Did you change both ends? I have 2 or 3 lower torque rods needing only one of the bushes replacing but I'm thinking that maybe wise to replace in sets at fitting only one end may stress the old rubber bushes exponentially quickly.
Thanks again.

I did both the small and large ends with the Powerflex street bushings.scot850 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2017, 15:47 That sounds like a good idea as the engine will need to settle, especially if the old ones had been bad for a while.
