96 850se saloon, creaking

hi there, here's one for you ! whilst i am driving at any speed i get creaking noises from the front end, i know it isn't the steering rack, and i have also got 2 new bottom wishbones on, so the problem isn't that, you hear it more when i go over a bump, or a rough road, not like the smooth highways of the states, over here in the u.k. the state of our (roads) highways stinks, anyway back to the problem, i seem to think it has something to do with the front shocks, mainly coming from the nearside (left) but there are no leaks from anywhere on the suspension, i would greatly appreciate any help, this car is going for it's m.o.t. (roadworthy certificate) shortly, and i dont want some garage ripping me off, thanks for any help - pete.

What comes to mind:
1. swaybar endlinks
2. spring seats (for the front struts)
3. Strut mounts (above the spring seats...they have a gear in them).

Possible loose or worn subframe bushings (along with the above list)

Would this be the same thing as when I turn into a parking space at a sharp angle, the wheels creak a lot?

yea i also get the noise when turning the wheel but not as loud

If you get creaking when turning at full cock at low speeds, this is usually only the steering stops that need grease. http://volvospeed.com/steerstops.php
